Happy Halloween Pet Tips

Halloween is coming and it could be a scarier than you think if you have a dog. Danger lurks in common places for fido, so take special care.

1. Trick-or-treat candies are not for pets.
Some of the Halloween candies contain the artificial sweetener Xylitol which is poisonous to dogs. Even small amount of it can be dangerous and deadly.

2. Keep pets confined and away from the door.
Strangers dressed in unusual costumes and being loud can make your pet scared. When opening the door for trick-or-treaters, make sure that your dog doesn’t run away.

3. Keep Halloween pumpkins out of reach.
Halloween pumpkins and other decorative plants could make pet’s stomach upset, or possibly be deadly, so make sure your furry friend don’t nibble on them.

4. Keep pets confined and away from the door.

5. Don’t keep lit pumpkins around pets.
Make sure your little friend doesn’t sniff a lit pumpkin or knock it over. Pets can get burn and cause a fire.

6. Chocolate is deadly for pets.
If you pet ingests chocolate, don’t walk, RUN to your local pet ER.
